Hello fellow Tree Huggers,
My name is MollyKate McLaughlin and I am a sophomore at Texas Christian University. I am an Early Childhood Education Major and I am very interested in making this world a better place. As a future educator, I ask myself what could I do as a teacher to help my students better understand the world they live in and it's importance.
I believe that a lot of people take this beautiful planet for granted and for the generations to come, it is not going to be in good shape for them! This website has many articles, videos, lessons, books, and much more so that teachers are able to understand how they can implement this important topic in their class. I found so many children's books on how children can make a difference and I think that having books like these in a classroom can be extremely beneficial. I was able to find and write my own reviews on these books, which hopefully helps other teachers that need environment books too.
I had no idea that this topic was so popular on social media, like twitter and Pinterest. I was able to discover an enormous amount of information and teaching strategies on environmental education. I think that in order to get the issue of environmental education out there, it is important to raise awareness through things that people are constantly involved with. By keeping up with technology, it is so easy to share information all around the world by using social media. I used to think that social media was such a burden that I was obsessed with, but after learning about how much is out there on Environmental Education, I wanted to look it all up. If we can get the group of people trying to raise awareness for Environmental Education, and continue to share, post, like, hashtag, comment, and retweet, this topic will be all over the world before we know it, and that will bring many more ideas and ways to teach this more effectively.
I hope you enjoy the rest of my site and learn about how you can help teach children about the environment...maybe even learn how to help the environment yourself!
XOXO,
MollyKate
